Chemise
Also called a shift, this is the basic undergarment of all ladies
clothing which was worn as both underwear and nightdress. Ours is
generously cut in the body and sleeves and has underarm gussets for
comfort and freedom of movement. The ruffled neck and wrists are
adjusted to fit with drawstrings and the sleeves are 3/4 length.
Offered in medium weight white linen and bleached or natural muslin.

| Petticoat in Dark Tea Dye |
Petticoat
What today would be called a skirt, petticoats are worn over the
chemise and can vary from mid-calf to ankle length. Working
women often wore theirs shorter for greater freedom of movement.
In winter a woman would wear as many petticoats as necessary
for warmth-seven was not uncommon. Ours is made from 120" of
100% cotton broadcloth to give great freedom of movement. We
gather the body into a two-piece waistband with button closures
on each side to allow for up to 4" of adjustment. (Or it can be
made with a simple drawstring waist if you prefer.) Side slits allow
for easy access to pockets worn under the petticoat. Offered in
100% cotton broadcloth in solid colors. After placing your order

The ladies equivalent of a man's waistcoat, this fitted, sleeveless garment is worn over the chemise and petticoat.
Our bodice laces up the front and is fully lined and completely reversible, so choosing a complementary colored
lining is like getting two bodices for the price of one. Made from 100% Cotton Broadcloth and offered in two styles:
the "English", which is hip length and has a straight cut hem; and the "French", which is waist length with small
points at the lower front openings. After placing your order you will receive an email requesting the appropriate

Mobcap
Most women in the 18th century wore a
cap of some kind, if only to keep their hair
clean and out of the way. Our Mobcap is
circular with a drawstring to adjust the fit.
